I. Our Story

An abaya built like an heirloom.

By Saga is an embroidery-led abaya house for anyone who loves shine and elegance in modest dress. Every piece is designed for everyday life, including work: most women in Europe don't yet wear an abaya to the office, and changing that, one hand-finished piece at a time, is a big part of why we started.

We hold to two disciplines at once: heritage embroidery worked the traditional way, and construction precise enough to survive a two-kilogram pull test on every hand-set mirror and bead. Quiet luxury, checked twice.

Each run is small and numbered on purpose. A garment this hand-worked doesn't scale, and we've chosen not to make it; better a waiting list than a shortcut on the embroidery.

II. The Collection

Two silhouettes. One standard.

Every piece is draped, embroidered and pressed by hand: nothing printed, nothing pre-cut.

Oasis

An open-front, kimono-style abaya in heavy natural-beige linen, fastening without closures and relying on the weight of the cloth for its drape. The front panels and sleeve bands carry a hand-embroidered palm tree motif in warm pink, orange and golden-ochre thread, framed by a geometric diamond-and-line border repeated at hem and cuff. Small round mirrors are hand-stitched throughout for traditional shimmer.

Regalia

A center-front V-neck abaya in black silk taffeta, set-in sleeves, worn with a plain black chiffon headscarf. A pair of peacocks is worked from upper chest to hem in high-density 3D puff embroidery (thick, structured, and firm without weighing on the drape), their feather-eyes marked in cobalt glass beads. Around them, hand-manipulated silk florals rise in dimensional appliqué, each centre finished with a cluster of pearls. The right cuff carries our hand-embroidered "S·A" monogram in rose gold.

III. The Craft

A stitch for every effect.

No two motifs are built the same way: each is assigned the stitch that gives it the right weight and shine.

Satin Stitch

Palm leaves & florals

Smooth, filled and lustrous: the base of every leaf and petal.

Long & Short Satin

Colour blending

Multi-tone thread laid in graduated lengths for natural shading across a leaf or feather.

Chain Stitch

Trunks & outlines

A raised, dimensional line worked in gold and ochre cotton.

French Knots

Floral centres

Small, textured dots built up by hand for depth at the heart of each flower.

3D Puff Embroidery

Peacock body & feathers

High-density, thickly built stitching for a heavily raised, embossed effect: firm and structural, without affecting the fall of the silk.

Surround Stitch

Mirror & bead setting

Thread secured full-circle around each mirror or pearl, then anchored through the base fabric.

IV. Signature Details

Marked, not branded.

The real Saga hang tag: cream cardstock with the hand-embroidered "S·A" monogram in rose gold, ribbon-tied.

  • The cuff monogram

    A 2×2cm "S·A" worked in rose-gold thread at the right sleeve cuff, the only branding on the garment itself.

  • The main label

    "by Saga," embroidered in high-density metallic gold satin stitch inside a laser-cut scalloped border, set at the centre back neck.

  • The hang tag

    Cream cardstock, ribbon-tied, finished with our hand-drawn "S·A" monogram in rose gold.
